About itnetworking

itnetworking is an open collection of original Cisco Packet Tracer labs for students and independent learners. Every page on this site is built automatically from the Markdown guides and metadata in the public GitHub repository, so the website and the repository always say the same thing.

Independent, not affiliated with Cisco

This is an independent educational project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Cisco Systems, Inc. or the Cisco Networking Academy. Cisco, Cisco IOS, Cisco Packet Tracer, Cisco Networking Academy and CCNA are trademarks of Cisco Systems, Inc. and are used here only to describe what the labs teach. Completing these labs does not lead to any certification.

The .pkt files open in Cisco Packet Tracer, which you download separately from Cisco. They cannot run in your browser, and Packet Tracer itself is not distributed here.

What "Tested in Packet Tracer" means

Each lab's simulator status comes straight from its metadata. "Tested in Packet Tracer" means the lab's topology and configuration were run in Cisco Packet Tracer and the results were recorded in the repository; on each lab page the status links to that record on GitHub. Currently 55 of 55 labs have that status. Other statuses are shown exactly as recorded: "Not yet tested in Packet Tracer", "Simulator test failed" or "No simulator file".

Lab passwords are for practice only

Passwords in the guides and solution files (for example cisco or class) exist only for isolated simulator practice. They are not secure settings for real equipment.
